Box Festival

PC demo with synchronized cube animations and acid techno

demoscene demo geometric animation Blockparty 2010 collaborative acid techno

About Box Festival

Box Festival is a full PC demo created under the Brainstorm group for Blockparty 2010. This production was coded entirely onsite at the party, just a week after competing at Breakpoint 2010, representing a rapid turnaround from one demoparty to the next.

The demo features animated cubes that roll across the screen in synchronized formations - a playful visual concept that creates the illusion of cubes "marching" in lockstep. While the code follows 64k intro principles, the inclusion of keith303's acid techno soundtrack as an MP3 file necessitated entry in the Combined Demo category. Combined with motion blur effects, Box Festival explores the intersection of geometric animation and electronic music.
